Cargiverlist Founders
Julie A. Northcutt
Julie Northcutt, a lifelong entrepreneur, founded Caregiverlist, Inc. and its education extension, Caregiver Training University, with the intention to solve one simple problem: to provide complete, objective and subjective, easy-to-use quality information for professional caregivers, seniors, and their families. She credits her entrepreneurial skills to experiences gained while growing up on a family farm. After graduating from the Missouri School of Journalism, she moved to Washington, D.C., and began a career in media, joining USA Today, and then moving back to the Midwest to launch the online advertising for Morningstar.com, as an early pioneer in the internet. After having hobby businesses on the side, she finally saved her money to start her own business, a senior home care agency, combining her entrepreneurial skills with a service she had personal experience in. She grew the agency to be a leader in the Chicagoland market and sold it to a national company in order to focus full-time on Caregiverlist. Caregiverlist.com provides the online tools she wished she had when she owned the senior home care agency, serving as a reliable resource for senior care professionals, adult children and seniors. Caregiverlist answers all the questions that begin when senior care becomes a need, while providing efficient business tools for senior care companies. She credits clients, employees and business colleagues with keeping the idea for Caregiverlist.com on track and contributing to the continued success with their suggestions and feedback. Caregiver Training University has trained more than 1 million senior caregivers and continues to develop the most efficient training solutions for the senior care industry and delivers the additional asset of having achieved the status as a Certified Women's Business Enterprise. She likes to mention that this process requires you to share your tax returns for the previous 2 years, which is more than what is required to be president of the United States! She carries her sense of humor with her and continues to innovate with the most recent new offering of the Jigsaw Puzzle [powered by Caregiverlist, showcasing the Caregiverlist Stress Relief Photos-of-the-Week.
Elisse Porter
Elisse Porter began her entrepreneurial pursuits after working in management for Hyatt Hotels in Vancouver, B.C., Tokyo, Japan and San Francisco, California, spending 5 years with the company. She then created the largest, most prestigious corporate concierge business located in 23 major cities across the U.S and Europe. Her concierge company was responsible for creating a whole new industry. Clients included the Who’s Who of Fortune 500 companies, such as American Express, GM-Onstar, Goldman Sachs, Fidelity Investments, Microsoft, MasterCard, and Charles Schwab, to name a few. The company provided services to private members, Class A luxury office building tenants, credit card companies as loyalty programs and on-site at large companies as an employee benefit. While owning the company, she decided she wanted to live someplace where she would not need to run from earthquakes, after experiencing quakes in both Tokyo and San Francisco. She relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona. After 12 years, and growing the concierge company to millions in annual sales, she sold it to a national company and pursued a career in real estate, catering to high-networth individuals. She also began a consulting career focusing on small to medium-sized companies. She enjoys sharing her leadership and management skills with other entrepreneurs and met Julie while serving on the board of the Arizona Entrepreneur’s Organization, where she has been a member for many years and has served a few terms as president. She shares her business expertise in her role as an advisor for Caregiverlist.
