Information to Include in a Student Resume

  1. Volunteer Service: have you volunteered for a senior organization, school philanthropy, church or community service event? List the volunteer service as a job title and explain the duties you fulfilled.
  2. Internships: did you participate in an internship program in high-school or college? List the company and job duties.
  3. Caring for Friends or Family Members: Did you assist a grandparent, neighbor of family friend with care needs or provide companionship to them? Maybe you ran errands, picked up their mail or helped with a household task.
  4. Training: have you completed some training as a caregiver through age-related disease community programs or senior centers? List all of the training you have received.
  5. Education: list your current education and include the reason you are pursuing the topic of study
  6. Goals: identify the goals you are seeking to achieve by working as a caregiver. Example: interested in working with seniors to develop customer service and organizational skills while sharing my natural compassion for the elderly as a professional caregiver.
  7. Demonstrate your interest in caregiving by taking sample and practice nursing aide tests and studying senior care briefs.
