Each state's Dept. of Health regulates training certification. C.N.A.'s must have a minimum of 75 hours of training and some states require more hours. C.N.A.'s must pass a state exam for certification. Professional caregivers also must meet state training requirements and may take online caregiver training.

  • Be a Baltimore City resident
  • Be between the ages of 20 and 55
  • Be drug and alcohol-free (drug testing will be done)
  • Have a HS diploma or GED
  • Have a desire to improve her life
  • Be ready to work hard to prepare yourself for a career
  • Successful completion of the TABE Locator reading and math test
  • Conduct a successful interview
  • Have proof of MMR inoculation and TB test (PPD) within 12 months; Tdap and Hep B series and current flu vacination (CNA program only)
