How do you become a caregiver for your Mom or Dad? And be paid by Medicaid to care for them?
The Medicaid Community Care program does provide a benefit for home caregiving services. The senior must be approved for the need for home care by their medical doctor and referred to a licensed Medicaid home care agency.
Family members may become certified caregivers by taking an online training course to demonstrate competency.
Medicaid home care agencies will hire family members, with all of the usual hiring requirements also being met, such as background checks and caregiving competency.
