In October of last year I was hired to take care of a lady. Her name was Betty and she was 80 years old. She was forgetful at times but I fell in love with her the first time I met her. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and she always worried about me, telling me to take the day off and not to sweep or lift the vaccuum. She was the sweetest woman I've ever met.
She asked if she could adopt me as her grandchild and I said of course. We had wonderful times together playing with her puppy, and cleaning her house and fussing at her to sit down. She always meant well and I knew it and I loved her for it.
Then she moved away. Her son said he wanted her to live with him and his family in Oregon. It was so hard to let her go and vice-versa, but I promise you I would never change meeting her even if I knew ahead of time that she would be moving.
