Caregiving Story

I was a little scared the first day that I went to work as a Caregiver. Little did I know that I would be given a very special life long friend. My client was the most wonderful person in the world. This little old woman had a special kind of sparkle about her, you could just tell that she was a very special person. Working with this certain person opened my eyes to all different kinds of possibilities about myself and my life. We shared stories and jokes. She would always know if i came in and was not feeling well or in the dumps about something. It did not matter if i had a smile on my face or not, almost like a Mother's intuition. She would then tell me a story about her hard times growing up, (and she had many of them) And it would either put a smile on my face or make me realize, "Hey! My life is'nt all that bad after all." This woman turned out to be the strongest, most sincere and kindest woman that i have ever met in my life. I will always hold a special place in my heart for her. I am so glad that I have had the chance to work as a Caregiver.
