Caregiving Story

Jimmie Boyce Hancock

I never knew how much a person can grow on you. Mrs. Hancock had Alzheimer's Disease, but 90% of the time she remembered who I was. She was the sweetest person. Every Wednesday, we would agree to take a day trip. She loved when we would go to the museums and the Houston Zoo. My family cared for her just as much as I did and she was always invited to family functions. She was a loving person and would speak to everyone. She was a very happy person and I loved being by her side and miss her so very much. She will always be considered as a member of my family.
