I was blessed to meet a lady name Patricia. She had ALS. It first attacked her speech, so i had to help her answer the phone and the door. We did a lot of sign language, until it attacked her hands. Then I had to help her with her shower, getting dressed, and combing her hair. She would eat through a g-tube and I transferred her from bed to wheelchair so that she could go into the living room to watch T. She couldn't sit long, so I would then transfer her back to bed.
She was a beautiful person. I assisted with giving meds, in-bed bath and shampoo, oxygen, and changing her diaper. The doctor would come out to the house and I would sit in and explain to the doctor what was going on with her, if she was in pain or not. She had a beautiful family and I love and miss them all. I love what I do. My mom died at home with me, and my son was killed in a drive-by. I had to unplug him and let GOD have him. I donated his heart, kidney, and lungs. I will never change what I do for it brings me too much joy.
