Caregiving Story

Olivia Bracamonte

My grandmother raised me from birth and I owed it to her to take care of her. In 1993 my grandmother lost her leg to diabetes, and was unable to do the the things that she enjoyed the most. The doctors fitted her for a leg but she refused to wear it. I would prepare her meals, read her the Reader's Digest, take her to the Goodwill and doctors appointment. She passed away from complications of diabetes in 1995. I loved her miss her so much.
