Caregiving Story

In Nurse Home

In 1998 my Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She was the sweetest person you would want to know. She was doing fine with it until the fall of 1999, when it spread to a different place in her body. Our family had decided not to send her to a nursing home, so we took shifts being with her. That was the happiest times I had, talking and really getting to know her. She died on March 15, 2000. When she died, I missed caring for her so much that I went to school to be a Certified Nursing Aide and I have been working in that field for 9 years now, all because I first cared for my Grandmother.
