Caregiving Story
Mr. Worther
Location: Bluffton, SC
Age: 90
Cared for by: Shantina Fountain
Years of Care: 3
My story begins with a client that I used to care for, Mr. Worther who had Alzheimer's and dementia. He was a very loving person who loved to sing. I liked him from the moment I began working with him and put in a lot of effort to care for him. I used to walk him around and did activities with him that he loved. To me, he was just a one-of-a kind client that anyone would love to care for. I could not work with him without a smile because he was a true joy to me. He ended up dieing at the age of 90 and it was a heartbreaking feeling because he was like a family member to me. I know that he is resting peacefully and am sure he is in a better place. Even though I still think about him and will continue to treat all clients that have with compassionate care, dignity and respect. I want all of my clients to feel welcomed and know that they really do mean alot to me.
