Caregiving Story

Helen

Growing up as a young child is where it all started for me, as a senior companion. I was a senior companion to my grandmother Helen, after my grandfather passed away. I helped her with housework, and yard work. I learned so much from my grandma. She taught me about respect for senior's, how to be kind, caring, compassionate, and trustworthy. Above all, she taught me how to make a senior feel wanted, unforgotten, and useful. I took her advice with me throughout my life. Working with senior's as a volunteer at The Villas Of Sunny Acres in 2007, was very rewarding. I had a goal to make a difference in a senior's life, and I did. I was there to give the senior's company, and quality companionship. It was an unforgettable experience! I found it very rewarding! I look forward to helping senior's again in the future!
