Caregiving Story

Bill K

Caregiving is my passion, I want to share a wonderful story of my elderly client. His name was Bill , he lived in Staten Island with his beautiful wife , but I was not able to see his wife, however I heard good memories of her.Bill was such a great person,a father,a grandfather,a great grand father, a loving fellow; he showed me how to live a good life.He was a remarkable man, full of love for everyone, and being his caregiver I saw how he embraced life to its fullest. He was surrounded by his seven children and grand children and great grand kids.He was the patriarch of the family. All the members of his family were kind, loving, and caring. I learned to be brave and courageous in my work, like him. He taught me to take my work easy,if I have extra time to just sit and rest, and he taught me not to over work, and to give myself little breaks. Every time he saw me busy working at home he reminded me to sit back and have something to drink or to eat,but I wanted to finish my work before the day ended. I never heard any complains from him since the first day I worked with him till the last days of his life. He died with great honor and pride.I miss him and I know he is watching me .
He loved my family too. He took care of everybody and he had a big heart and loved all .
I am happy he went to his Maker peacefully to be reunited with his wife in heaven. I will always cherish the memories I have with him,his jokes, his laughter and his advises.I love you Bill !
