Caregiving Story

Vivian

We decided to bring my grandmother home from the nursing home 2 years ago. We felt that she would get more hands-on care and that she would be happier if she were surrounded by people she knew--although most of the time she didn't remember us. It was very important for us to make her final days memorable.

We fed her, bathed her, and just tried to keep her engaged in activities. I know it made a difference in her life because as she passed she was smiling. She went in the comfort of her own home and I know she was much happier to be around us.
