When DeAndrea Russell opened the email announcing her selection as the Caregiverlist Monthly Caregiver, she was filled with joy and excitement. "Oh my gosh, I never win these things… so yay!" she thought. She felt truly honored to be recognized for her dedication and hard work in caregiving.

As a caregiver, DeAndrea knows firsthand the importance of self-care. Self-care isn’t just a luxury, it’s necessary. “As caregivers, we spend so much time looking after someone else’s needs, but we have to take care of ourselves too.” Her go-to ways to unwind? A long, hot bath at the end of the day. “After helping someone else bathe, how could I not go home and do the same for myself?” she laughs. She also loves visiting the nail salon, it’s her little treat and a way to relax and feel good.
